Dumpster Day in the Spring and Fall

Twice a year, we use our membership funds to rent 3-4 dumpsters for about four hours to allow members to bring anything except hazardous waste, tires and appliances. Many residents enjoy helping each other with cleaning out their garages, basements and sheds and sometimes make multiple trips on one day!

There will be dumpsters for yard and garden debris and big trash items. No special bundling of yard and garden waste is necessary. This is on a first come, first served basis. Once the dumpsters are filled, they will be closed. This event takes place at the South-Broadland Presbyterian Church, 7850 Holmes Rd.

Your membership also allows us to provide
  • An online website which serves as a resource for residents in the Waldo Community.

  • An online newlsetter to quickly notify residents of important Waldo community news and alerts.

  • The ability to provide General Neighborhood Meetings every other month with guest speakers and a way to convey important neighborhood news to people who do not have a computer.

  • The ability to create informational town hall events which seek to inform the public about important issues including ballot issues and city-wide civic issues.

  • The ability to create other community engagement events such as our annual picnic and movie night at Tower Park and the multiple Happy Hour events we have planned.

  • The ability to provide telephone alerts to residents who sign up for them.

  • The ability to create a visible presence in the area such as the Waldo Fall Festival and other community-wide events.

  • The ability to quickly organize and provide assistance to those in the community who are in need.

  • The ability to purchase items that will help with our civic duties such as trash bags for neighborhood cleanup efforts or lawn bags for the rain garden clean up.

  • Quick access to Neighborhood Advocates to help with any issues at City Hall. The larger our membership and the more active our residents, the more our city listens to us and responds when we contact them.

  • Involvement in your community brings you closer to your neighbors. Our activities are intended to create a way for neighbors to get to know each other and to build a network with each other block, by block, using online tools and old-fashioned resources, only a mix of all technologies can really be successful.
