Opportunity to cash in on back-to-school deals .
Kansas City, Missouri, residents are preparing to take advantage of the three-day sales tax holiday that starts Friday, Aug. 3, and ends on Sunday, Aug. 5.
Shoppers who purchase certain items of clothing, shoes, school supplies and computers at KCMO stores will not have to pay any city sales tax. The holiday works in concert with Missouri’s annual tax-free weekend.
To help reduce costs for families preparing for the school year, the following retail purchases are exempt from respective sales taxes during the 2018 Back to School Sales Tax Holiday:
Articles of clothing, shoes and cloth or other materials used to make school uniforms or other school clothing with a taxable value of $100 or less

Personal computers with taxable value of $1,500 or less
Computer software items with taxable value of $350 or less
Computer peripheral devices not to exceed $1,500
